Style | Where I shop for Petites

Shopping for Petite fashion can be a mine field if you're lucky enough to be below 5"3 like myself. I've learnt over the years where to shop for that perfect fit, which I've shared with all your petite lovelies below.

I've learnt about shopping for petite woman's fashion, is fit is everything. Getting the right cut and fit for a petite frame can be really difficult. Over the years I've really struggled to find clothes that fit properly and don't hang off me in strange ways.

First thing I learnt is where to shop. Finding a high street fashion store that stocks quality petite pieces is harder than you think. Often stores don't actually have their petite range available in stores, which means petites are often forced to shop online. The stores that I head to are ASOS, Anthropoligie and Very.

The second lesson I learnt is to find a good tailor. I often fall in love with a piece that is just not available in my size, the cut is too low, the sleeves are to big and the legs too long. Despite the crude fit, a good tailor can work wonders, customising anything to fit like a glove.

The third lesson is learning some simple sewing techniques. Often a pair of jeans just needs a good second hem, or a shirt a good tuck. These are really simple techniques that can quickly transform your ill-fitting clothes in to custom fitted perfection.
