Style | #ColourMeMarch off to the races...

Cheltenham Races Ladies day, March 11th 2015 is all about the colour.  #ColourMeMarch is welcoming in SS15 with a bang, celebrating all that's feminine and colourful at this years Ladies day at Cheltenham. Cheltenham ladies day is famous for it's stylish ladies, polished to perfection and balancing precariously in stilettos while sinking into the grass. In anticipation of the day's events, I put together my #ColourMeMarch outfit, fit for a day at the races.

I decided to keep it simple and classy with a classic white shift dress. The asymmetrical hem and cheeky slit at the front adds a bit of fun and interest to the look. Shift dresses are so versatile and comfortable, perfect for a long day of excitement at the races. Using dress as a white base for this look, the colour combinations are endless. Similar here

Yellow to me just screams spring, so I selected a few yellow pieces to inject some vibrant colour into my look. When adding pops of colour, I like to avoid the matchy-matchy rule, instead opting for complimentary shades and hues. This adds texture and interest to the outfit.

My scarf is from Next - similar here, and beautifully light and soft. A scarf is so versatile for an event like this, drape it over your shoulders for an elegant look, around your neck for warmth, or even over your head if the heavens decide open. I love how the soft material hangs and moves with me, and the little daisies pull it all together with the white in the dress.

Killer heels for Cheltenham races ladies day are a must. A beautiful, well chosen pair of shoes can steal the show and really finish off a look. These super high heels are almost neon yellow, finished with a pointed toe, which helps elongate my legs. Similar here

I popped all my essentials in to the cute yellow clutch from Mango. A clutch with a wrist strap is a must have for a busy day of events, keeping your hands free to meet and greet, sip on champagne, snap photos and celebrate your wins with passion. Similar here

I kept my hair simple but fun in loose curls, adding texture and glamour to my look. I used a 2inch wand to curl the lower 2 thirds of my hair, and let the curls cool and fall out naturally to create a relaxed look. To add some body and texture to my hair I spritzed some Fudge Urban Sea Salt Texturising Spray into my hands and ran my fingers through the curls and finished with some hairspray.

I went for a natural look with my make-up too. I blended the rose gold Scandal eyes eyeshadow crayons from Rimmel into the crease, and added a sexy winged eyeliner to clean up the look. I used my new favourite mascara, Moodstruck 3D lashes by Younique  which uses natural green tea fibres to create a false lash look without all the gluey mess. Full review coming soon. My lipstick is a matte nude shade from No.7 here.

So that's my look for the #ColourMeMarch competition and Cheltenham races ladies day on March 11th.
