Yes to Cucumbers | Soothing facial wipes + 35% off code

Yes to cucumbers soothing hypoallergenic facial wipes are now available in Boots! Now, I'm not sure if everyone would get as excited about this as me, but I've been dying to try these wipes for so long! After trying, and loving, the Yes to Carrots hand and elbow cream I couldn't wait  to try more from this brand. Yes to Carrots is a natural skin and hair care brand with a huge range of products to say Yes to! Yes to cucumbers, yes to carrots, yes to grapefruits yes to almost everything!

The Yes to cucumbers soothing hypoallergenic facial wipes come in this super cute pouch packaging, containing 30 wipes, with a very useful clip fastening.  I always look for facial wipes with the plastic clip fastener, it really helps prevent the wipes from drying and therefore wasting the product.

As many facial wipes, the Yes to cucumbers soothing wipes are a quick fix to removing make up. The wipes are super soft to the skin and perfectly saturated with product to wipe away all kinds of makeup, even waterproof mascara. Formulated with aloe vera, Yes to cucumber soothing wipes help to reduce redness and generally soothe skin after a long day, without leaving any greasy residue.

These wipes smell incredible too, obviously of cucumbers, which is so fresh and uplifting. If you have sensitive skin like me, then be careful when using them around your eyes as it has irritated on occasion - but Bioderma even irritates my eyes, so I think I'm a special case of overly sensitive eyes.

I will definitely be repurchasing these, for those nights when I just can't be fussed with the millions of other products I like to shove on my face. Also if you're based in America you can currently get 35% of all Yes to cucumber wipes by entering the code WIPES35 at the checkout! Just click the link here

MaXFactor GIVEAWAY | Lipfinity Lip Colour

MaXFactor Lipfinity lip colour is a two step product which delivers beautifully rich colour that lasts up to 12 hours. The packaging is true to style for MaXfactor - Sleek, versatile with all the traits of a luxury product. The black and gold tubes contain each of the two steps.

The first step is the lip paint or lipstick with a typical doe foot applicator. I've been trialling the colour 340 Essential Natural which a gorgeously pigmented nude pink colour with a subtle scattering of gold shimmer. Essential Natural is the perfect your lips but better colour for me, and is suitable for all occasions. I like to wear it with a natural everyday look and even to complement a dark smokey eye for the evening.

The lip paint applies a little on the thick and tacky side, and due to the lasting power of this stuff it pays off to take your time outlining your lips before filling them in with colour. After applying the lip paint avoid touching your lips together for about 30seconds to allow it to set and dry.

The second step in the MaXFactor Lipfinity lip colour is a clear gloss balm, conveniently packaged in a retractable bullet. To apply simply sweep across the lips to leave a sleek glossy finish.

The lipfinity lip colour promises a 12 hour wear time and it really does deliver! I can eat, drink and go about my day without having to worry about bleeding or reapplying the colour! It does pay to reapply the balm top coat every once and a while to keep up the sleek finish though. I am seriously impressed with this stuff actually, although is is a bit of a bugger to get off at night - but hey, you can't have everything. The one thing I did notice is that after about 3 hours my lips began to flake a bit, so I've been applying a small amount of regular balm before the first step to keep them hydrated and it's working a treat.

I'm so impressed with this product, I've got a second Lipfinity lip colour to GIVEAWAY! A brand new and unopened MaXFactor Lipfinity Lip colour in 340 Essential Natural could be all yours, simply enter using the rafflecopter below!

This giveaway is now over. Please keep checking back for the next giveaway!

A Love Letter to my Younger self...

Dear younger Claire,

It's been a while, I admit and honestly sometime I miss you. I'm now 22 and looking back on my life, there is so much I wish I knew, so much I wish I could relive, and so much I wish someone had told me. So here's my chance, one sweet love letter to my younger self to help you on your way.

So you didn't do a bad job, so don't go thinking you'll be a screw up, I know you worry constantly that you'll let people down. I know that you spend hours trying to figure out the best way to please all parties, the best way you can keep the peace. But looking back, I want you to know that you're wasting your time! Seriously, you will NEVER please everyone. There will always be that one person who doesn't quite approve but the one person you need to worry about pleasing is yourself. Now don't feel too bad, I'm only just learning this, and at 22 and I wish I'd understood this so much sooner, it would of saved a lot of heartache!

Secondly, however cool it looks on other people, Black hair is just not a good idea, so step away from the hair dye! NOW! Trust me, you'll look like a corpse and it will take you HOURS and HOURS in the hairdressers to fix it! The moment you dye it, you'll wish you were blonde again, so please save yourself the hassle and money!

So now you're at Uni, and I know you hate it. And I don't think that memory will ever change. The years that are supposed to be the best in your life, for you they wont necessarily be that. But that's okay. Because what you don't see yet is how much you're going to grow. But what I will say, is don't rush it. Cherish how easy uni life is. You don't have to pay taxes for one! You don't have to get out of bed if you don't want! Money is dropped into your hands - regardless of your uni attendance record. That will never happen again! So please please cherish it! And if you can, spare that one trip to salon every month or so and save your pennies. You'll really thank yourself when you're my age!

Most of all I want you to not rush your life. I know you've got a fairytale idea of how you're life will go and you'll soon have that shattered. Reality will hit and you'll learn that Fairytales aren't real. But that doesn't mean you should stop wishing. Not everything has to happen now, you're so young. Hold on tight because you're going to meet your Prince Charming, in a way you'll never expect and all your dreams will fall into place! Just keep wishing...

The years can seem so tough, but as a result you're growing into a strong, independent woman intent on survival. And yes, you will survive! In ways that you've never even considered. Life will take you on an unexpected journey, and you're going to find happiness in places you never dreamed of. Life is going to take you to the top of mountains in Africa, the bottom of oceans in Thailand and Australia will ultimately capture you heart.

The best news of all is that the adventure isn't over yet, it's only just begun. So soak it up and love the woman you're becoming!

All my love
future Claire
XOXO

FAIL | This One Shampoo and Conditioner

I picked up the THIS ONE shampoo and conditioner on offer in Boots last week, I chose the This One: Gets it under control shampoo and the This One: is the perfect pick-me-up. This One isn't a brand I'd heard of but for 2 for one and such pretty packaging, I gave them a whirl. And as the title suggests, I was so disappointed.

Everything was going so well, the lux purple coloured salon style bottles and a gorgeous spicey scent (that wont be to everyone's taste) but the products were just blah. My hair felt straw-like, greasy and just refused to style. I hate it when products really let you down, but I thought I would share so you can avoid this disaster too!

A'kin | Pure Radiance Rosehip oil

A few months ago I received a sample of the A'Kin Pure radiance Rose hip Oil. I've really been loving beauty oils recently and I was very excited to try out the A'kin range. Rose hip oil has been using throughout history in beauty products due to its high content of fatty acids and anti oxidants. Rose hip oil works to revive tired skin, reducing the signs or ageing, including wrinkles and dark spots.

The A'kin sample included enough for around 6 applications, as very little is required to get the job done. Firstly the oil formulation feels so strange when applying. For years I've avoided oil like the plague, believing that it would have disastrous effects on my already oily skin. But I was so wrong! The Pure radiance rose hip oil is formulated to treat all skin types, from very dry to sensitive skin.

The oil itself is dark orange in colouring and it's oily consistency can be rather messy. But successfully applied to the face, rather than all over the sink, I really fell in love with the product. Applied after cleansing, it removed the need for moisturiser and absorbed so quickly. It did leave a light oily residue, as expected - it is an oil, so I opted to only use it at night. By the morning, my skin was noticeably brighter, more moisturised and smooth. My face also had a lovely healthy glow, and was visibly plumper.

I don't really suffer from wrinkles and dark spots, being only 22, but the benefits to the overall appearance to my skin were great. Makeup applied more easily and my complexion looked overall more radiant. So if like me, you have a fear of oils, give it a try, and you might well be pleasantly surprised.

Have you tried any facial oils?
I'd love to hear your opinion!

APRIL SHOWERS | Sancturary Spa: 2 Day Moisture Shower Oil*

Since I was a teen I've been stealing my mum's Sanctuary Spa goodies and there's good reason why the famous Spa in Covent Garden is indeed so famous. However, The 2 day moisture shower oil isn't exactly the best display of how good their products are as a whole!

Every band is bashing out the oil based products at the moment, oil treatments, oil cleansers, oil this and oil that. So I was so excited to try out the 2 days moisture shower oil from Sanctuary spa. With promises to leave skin feeling beautifully moisturised for 2 whole days (even after a second shower) and in perfect condition, why wouldn't you want to try this?

And this is why I was so disappointed. Such big promises, but I just didn't like it. Firstly the consistency of this products is just like a slightly more oily shower gel, not a true oil. It does foam up nicely though which is a plus- but I was confused to why an Oil product would foam, but it was really nice to use. And smelt amazingly of that signature spa scent, giving the feeling of luxury and highly relaxing. The 2 day moisture shower oil did rinse well, leaving my skin feeling clean with no sign of oily residues.

So everything was going well, but after I'd dried up my skin felt horrible. My skin was all tight and felt more dry than before I started. I followed up with a moisturiser which helped, but doesn't that defeat the purpose of using a moisturising shower oil in the first place? 2 days came and went, and my skin felt the same as it always did.

I did find a use for the product by pouring some into my running bath. As it foams quiet well it was actually really pleasant and the scent is so relaxing. But not really what it's meant for...? So really a big disappointment really. I've tried a couple more of this line of products which are really great , reviews to follow, but the 2 Day Moisture Shower Oil just isn't a winner.

Whats your favourite Sanctuary Spa product?!
