Pre-Travelling haul

Pre-Travelling Haul

You may not know that I'm going travelling over the couple of months. A week today I leave for Thailand and then on to Australia. Over the last couple of weeks I've been picking up some travel essentials and figured I would share them all with you.

Manicare - Trendy Tweezers
Somewhere in my move from Oxford to London I misplaced my tweezers so I figured I would pick up a new pair rather than hunt through vast amounts of boxes to find them. A girl needs to tweeze! I picked up this cute pair of zebra print tweezers from a independent drug store. They're so cute and girly and they work amazingly well. My old ones were blunt and battered boots own, probably pinched from my mother in my teen years! So I was well worth the investment in a new pair!

Sure - Bright miniature deodorant
Being on the go all the time, I've come to really value having a travel sized deodorant in my handbag. Perfect for a freshen up on the go and the tiny bottle makes it so easy!

Batiste - Dry Shampoo - XXL Volume
This is a staple for me, I used it everyday, even when I wash my hair. My hair is so fine and soft that natural volume is a myth to my locks. Therefore I have to improvise! Batiste dry shampoo is the best ting for it! A few blasts of this stuff in my roots gives me gorgeous volume and keeps my hair fresh and smelling great all day long!

Piz Buin - In sun radiant face cream
Its not a secret that facial SPF is an everyday must. The damage the sun can do to the delicate skin on your face everyday is not worth thinking about! So as I'm going to be spending the best part of 2months permanently in the sun I thought I needed to bulk up my protection! I recently purchased Garnier BB cream (review soon) which has SPF 25 in it already and my usual everyday MAC foundation is SPF 15 so I'm already doing good. But for those non-make up beach days it's good to be prepared with a SPF designed for your face. Piz Buin in sun radiant face cream has SPF 15 along with UVA and UVA filters - And smells amazing! Perfect for all those Thai beach days.

Malibu - Clear hair and scalp protector
In keeping with the SPF theme, I picked up a hair and scalp protector too. In the form of a dry oil, Malibu clear hair and scalp protector gives SPF 15 to protect my locks from frying in the heat! And everyone hates a parting burn on holiday - not a pretty sight!

MUA - Pistachio cream nail polish
Everyone seems to be a fan of the new MUA £1 nail polishes, myself included. I've already tried out a few shades (review here) but I could never get my hands on Pistachio Ice cream - my local superdrug in Oxford was always sold out! So when I saw this I had to get it, the perfect mint apple green which will look simply amazing with a tan on finger and toes!

Victoria's Secret - Vanilla Lace Fragrance mist
If you've ever been into a Victoria's secret, you know what I mean when I say - I couldn't resist! I literally want my wardrobe to be a Victoria's secret store! Not only the underwear but the cosmetics too! I know vanilla is a bit of a winter scent, but I adore it. It's such a warm and creamy scent, makes me feel very homely and happy. This mist last throughout the day as well, its amazing!

H&M - Gold Mix chain trio necklace
This is a very simple piece, which is perfect to throw on with any outfit for any occasion. Made up of 3 differently linked chains which cascade down the neck. It's so simple and elegant!

H&M - Gold/peach bib necklace
I'm a sucker for statement jewellery  something that can jazz up any outfit effortlessly. This is a gorgeous piece, very girly and pretty and will go amazingly with a sun kissed tan!

Model Own: Powder Blush: Warm Glow - Dupe for Benefit Coralista!

Model Own: Powder Blush: Warm Glow

A few weeks back I posted about a mini makeover I received with models own, where I proceeded to buy a nail polish review here and a blush. From the moment the lady brushed models own powder blush in warm glow over my cheeks I was sold. It had to be mine!

Warm glow is a gorgeous bronzed coral blush which warms up any complexion The warm pink under tones stop the blush from looking orangey and would work stunning on any skin colour. The powder is a medium milled pressed powder is a sheen, not really a shimmer but it definitely has a gorgeous glow to it.

The models own powder blush in warm glow gives my complexion a beautiful warm healthy and sun kissed glow with just a couple of sweeps on the brush on my cheek bones. One of the best things about this prof it which I only realised some weeks after purchasing, is that is an almost dead dupe of benefit's Coralista! Coralista is a beauty bloggers raved and famed product and has been for ages! However costing £24 the models own blush in warm glow trumps it at only £5!

So if you're a benefit fan and can't afford to splash the cash or if you love your complexion to be warm and glowing definitely go try this one out!
You can get models own products including the powder blush in warm glow online, in boots stores and also the models own bottle shop!

The Body Shop: Beautifying Oil : Mango

The Body Shop: Beautifying Oil : Mango

I received The Body Shops beautifying oil many months ago at Christmas time. I've been using it on and off through that time till now not quite being able to decide if I liked it or not. The Body Shops Beautifying Oli is a light dry oil for use on your body face and hair. There are a few of these oil products around these days and they're quickly growing in popularity, however I don't think any come close to being as highly scented as The Body Shop Beautifying Oil!

Body
After much trialling, I found that using this beautifying oil on my skin after a shower is a great way to lock in moisture and keep the skin supple. Being a dry oil it makes application easy with no greasy mess to clear up afterwards. The scent also lasts all day so it's a lovely skin perfume - fresh and fruity. I particularly like to use the body shop beautifying oil on my legs just after shaving to rehydrate and soothe.

Face
Now here is where the debate for me has really gone on. The body shop beautifying oil is marketed at a face oil, however this really was a no go. Despite being a dry oil I still found that the product clogged my pores and left my face feeling dry and irritated. I'm also really not a fan of putting anything that highly scented on my face.

Hair
This is where to product really wins its gold stars for me. As most of you know I struggle with dry ends due to bleaching my hair so I'm always looking for a way to rehydrate and tame them. The body shop beautifying Oli works wonders for me. I simply apply a tiny amount of the oil to my hands and then work into the end of wet hair. I stress only to use a little, and focus just on the ends to avoid a big greasy bad hair day. Yes this has happened. Then I go on an simply style as normal. My ends are left feeling silky smooth and appear much less matted and gross. The smell is a great touch too as it lasts all day and smells so sweet and fruity.

I would really recommend this product to anyone really. Especially those dry skinned and dry haired ladies out there. The body shop currently have about 10 different scents to choose from. I currently trying out a sample of the coco butter ? Beautifying oil which smells Devine as well! You can get the beautifying oil online or in stores for £9 for 100ml and it will last you ages!

Mellor & Russell - Miracle moisture repair mask

Mellor & Russell - Miracle moisture repair mask

I mentioned in my last post that my hair was in desperate need of a little TLC however after the disappointment of the Sanctuary spa smoothing treatment oil I set off in search of something else.
Strangely enough I stumbled upon Mellor & Russell - Miracle moisture repair mask - for all hair types. In poundland of all places! After I locked that the product contained Aragon oil I figure for £1 what did I have to loose?!

And what a pleasent surprise! Miracle moisture is a thick intensive deep conditioner which is best used focused on the ends and midlengths of half for soft and shiny hair. Simply apply to wet hair in the shower and leave for 5 mins while you get on with all those other shower activities. Wink. And the. Rinse following up with shampoo and conditioner. Style as normal.

The results were fantastic,my hair felt so rich and soft without any sign of nasty product build up. The only down side is the scent which is pretty much non existent so it's not really a bother.
Does make make reconsider all those higher end products I buy now I've found this gem for only £1!

What other gems have you found in Poundland?

Sanctuary : Smoothing Hair treatment oil.

Sanctuary : Smoothing Hair treatment oil.
Recently the ends of my hair have been looking a little tired and brittle. This comes to no surprise as I bleach my hair on a regular basis and use heat pretty much every day! So my hair needs a little TLC every once and a while. So I've been trying a few products out recently, some have worked wonders and others....well not so much. I don't believe in only writing good reviews, as I think it's important that people researching a product get a good overall opinion before making a purchase. So unfortunately today I'm sharing with you a product which was a bit of a disappointment. I was surprised quite honestly at the performance of the Sanctuary : Smoothing Hair treatment oil.

Sanctuary is a brand, despite not trying a large range of their products, I have had a high regard for. Coming straight from their renowned salons, you would expect their products to be tried tested and to actually work. I purchased a single sache of the Smoothing hair treatment oil which promises to tame and smooth frizzy and dry hair with avocado and apricot oils for an intensive treatment.

Firstly application is horrendous! Being an oil the product just poured right out into my skin before I had a chance to realise. The oli is applied to wet hair using the hands, which was really difficult as I couldn't actually work out how much product actually made it into my hair and how much just slipped through my fingers into the sink. Nightmare!

I worked what product I could into the ends of my hair and fastened my hair into a top knot and allowed to work for 5-10 mins as instructed. The I washed it out throughly in the shower, followed by shampoo and conditioner, and styled as usual.

The results - I noticed no benefits what so ever, if anything my hair was just greasy flat and just as dry as before. Which is such a shame as I had expected great things from Sanctuary : Smoothing Hair treatment oil. I've tired other products but Sanctuary, including a face mask that I'll review soon, and I was really impressed, but I can't say I'll be rushing back for any hair products in the near future!
