Fourteen Wishes for 2014

Happy new year everyone! I hope you have a fabulous night celebrating 2013 and welcoming in 2014! I hope there aren't too many sore heads either! We had a lovely evening with friends, BBQ and sipping Champagne in the city.

So welcome to 2014! I love the start of the new year, everything is clean and fresh, the last year is behind you and in front of you is opportunity. 365 days to fill with memories, achievements , adventures and celebrations. So to help me focus on the new year, I've put together a list on wishes and goals for this year. I encourage you to do the same, either written in your diary, on your pin board or even write your own post like this one, make sure to link me as I'd love to read then. So here it is;

1. Read more : I love to read. Sitting down with a cup of coffee and a good book is my idea of a relaxing evening, but such is life that I rarely have time to do that. I think I'll make a 2014 reading list to inspire me to delve into books more often this year.

2. Save money : I am horrible at saving money, it's like I literally have holes in my pockets. I don't know where it goes, or what I do but somehow I always run out of money. So this year it's saving time. I'm going to work out a budget and stick to it!

3. YouTube : My boyfriend and friends are always nagging me to start a YouTube channel. But it's a bit scary isn't it? My face on your computer... do you really want that? But Hello 2014 and Hello GlitterView on YouTube - details coming soon

4. A Blog a day : Keeps the Doctors away. Yes, I think I always say this. But blogging once a day can't be that difficult. Especially when I enjoy it so much. Lets see if I can stick to this one?!

5. Charity : In 2012 I raised over £3000 for a charity, and it felt amazing to help someone else and give to others. So I want to make it a yearly thing, every year to do something for a Charity or cause.

6. Britain Bound : This one I know will happen, but I definitely want to visit home this year. I haven't seen my family or friends in months. I fly home in April and I'm so excited!

7. Learn : When I finished my degree in May this year I swore I never wanted to study again. But I was wrong. I think you should always keep learning, so this year I want to study. Maybe a short course or programme, something like that.

8. Print them pics : Digital photography is amazing, making it so easy to upload and share your photos online. But I never get round to printing them. So I'm going to go buy some pretty picture frames and fill my house with prints and photos of the people I love and memories I treasure.

9. Gym Loyalty : I love working out, but I find it hard to be consistent. I used to to be a loyal gym monkey, but life got busy and I never found the time. This is something I want to work on, getting to the gym at least 3 times a week. Keeping fit and healthy.

10. Paddle boarding : Something I'd never really seen much of till I moved to Australia. Paddle boarding is awesome. Something I really want to learn to do , and do well this year.

11. Forgiving : On a personal level, I find it hard to be forgiving. I get frustrated when things aren't going right and I tend to pin the blame to other people, especially my boyfriend. So this year I want to learn to be more tolerant and forgiving of the people around me.

12. Organised : I'm always losing things, forgetting things, missing payments, running out of things at the worst possible time. It's time to organise my life.

13. Risk taker : I'm such a worrisome person and I'm a dreadful worst case scenario planner.  This needs to change. I want to say YES to things and take more RISK. Just a few more.

14. Dream Bigger : The world is your ouster they say. And that it is... you are capable than much more than you think. Live louder , lover harder and DREAM BIGGER.

Share in to comments your 14 wishes for 2014 or link me if you decide to do you own!

And all the blessings in the world to
you and your loved ones for 2014.

It gonna be a good one!

NEXT: Just pink Eau du Parfum & Strawberry Lip balm.

NEXT: Just pink Eau du Parfum
& Strawberry Lip balm

Another cute little stocking stuffer I got this Christmas were the Next Just Pink eau du parfum and the Next Just Pink Strawberry Lip Balm.

I love NEXT perfumes, they're such a great treat and with a great price tag too! The perfumes are actually really great quality too, great scents and a long wear time. Just pink , eau du parfum is a beautifully light and sweet scent with fresh green floral notes combined with soft fruits and pink blossoms. Just pink is the perfect girly every day scent, and the small 10ml bottle makes it perfect to throw in your handbag too!  You can find a review of anther Next perfume I love here

The Next Just Pink strawberry lip balm comes in such a cute little tub, I love just looking at it. But it smells even better, just like the perfume it has a soft and sweet fragrance. The balm itself is a soft pink pearlised balm which gives the lips a lovely pearly gloss. When on the lips it has the feeling like mint lip balms do, even though it doesn't smell minty, it has a nice tingling effect.

Have you tried any of the NEXT perfumes or lip balms?!

The power of Primer! Maybelline: Dream smooth primer

Maybelline: Dream smooth primer

Primer is often a product that most people neglect, either it's forgotten in the mornings when rushing off to work or school. Or some haven't ever really thought it necessary. I was one of these people till just a couple of years ago, and since then I've tried a few primers, but never really found one that really worked for me. But since trying Maybelline's new Dream Smooth Primer, I'm now a full covert to the power of primers.

It's summer here at the moment, and getting your foundation to stay put and not slide off your face is a real challenge. The Maybelline dream smooth primer is my answer to this annoying issue! In the form of a light gel mousse, Maybelline dream smooth primer glides onto the skin so beautifully, leaving a gorgeous silky feel to the skin. Being a light gel, it doesn't clog up pores or leave a greasy residue, it sets into the skin to leave a matte veil of product ready for foundation or powder.

You only need the tiniest amount of the dream smooth primer to cover your face with sufficient product. The primer works as smooth base for the rest of your make up, increasing wear time and appearance of make up. Those days still happen, when I'm in a rush and I forget primer, and it's those days I really do notice the difference! Dream smooth primer keeps my make up looking fresh and flawless for over 6hours, which is pretty amazing for a drug store primer in my books - only $7.97 at Chemist wear house - here. I will be repurchasing this baby for sure!

Get New Years ready with ST.TROPEZ bronzing mousse

I don't know about you but New Years is an event where I definitely want to look my best, there's always lots of parties and events and even more photos! Nothing makes you look more radiant, healthy and polished than sun kissed skin. Forget expensive spray tans and dangerous sun bed and get yourself and easy, and flawless tan in the comfort of you own home.

ST.TROPEZ bronzing mousse is a self tan you can do at home, whether you're getting ready for a night out or just love looking sun kissed. With a gorgeously light weight texture, this bronzing mouse is infused with vitamin E to treat your skin and deliver a flawless streak free tan every time.

It can be a bit scary using a self tanner for the first time, so grab yourself a ST.TROPEZ applicator mitt (here $11.95) and consider using a couple of these tanning tips.

Tanning tips

Exfoliate - To avoid any dark dry patchy spots use a exfoliating scrub all over your body in the shower, try to avoid scrubs with a high oil content as this can prevent the tan from applying evenly.

Shave - Make sure your pins are freshly shaved/waxed before application, using an exfoliator before shaving can also help you get a closer, cleaner shave.

Moisturise - Don't moisturise all over, but focus a small about of moisturiser on dry areas, such as elbows, knees and ankles. Simply brush softly over these areas with the product when applying.

When you're all prepped, apply a small about of ST.TROPEZ self tanning mousse to you mitt and apply to your skin in circular motions, I find it works best to work on a small section of your body at a time, I start with my stomach. The ultra lightweight mouse applies so smoothly and by using circular motions around your body it blends effortlessly into the skin. Using light circular motions avoid those ugly streaks that give away the secret of a fake tan!

The product has a surprisingly nice scent too, a light tropical scent, rather than that nasty fake tan smell lots of other brands tend to have. Once applied all over, avoid dressing until your skin is touch try, this takes about 5 mins. Your skin will feel a little stick for a while, but as the tan develops over the next couple of hours this disappears.

Also avoid showering for at least 4 hours after application to let the tan colour your skin perfectly. The ST.TROPEZ bronzing mousse gently fades over about 3-5 days depending on your skin, but it does fade smoothly and evenly over this time. If like me you like to keep your bronze glow going, I like to reply about ever 3 days just to upkeep the colour. One initial application gives me a beautiful skin kissed glow which isn't orange at all which is always a worry when using a new self tanner! I'm quite pale, but if you prefer a darker colour, simply reapply more frequently to deepen the colour.

Overall, ST.TORPZE bronzing mousse is an amazing product, for me it removes all the pains of self tanning. It's quick, simple and flawless. So if you're looking for that sun kissed glow this party season, defiantly pick up this self tanner! You can get ST.TROPEZ from most drug stores and department stores or here for $39.9r(120ml).*

Still loving: Mixing metals

Still loving: Mixing metals
One trend I just can't get enough is mixing metals. I love the way statement pieces can really make a plain outfit really pop and give that wow factor with little effort at all! I picked up this piece recently at Louisa, and it was love at first sight.

The piece consists of large links, with 3 different length strands. The necklace has gold, silver and steel links, giving this piece a real edgy but still glamourous feel. I've been wearing it over a simple black tee with shorts and I just adore how it looks, however it is REALLY heavy, I think it's worth it!

What do you think?
Still loving the mixing metals trend?

A Cruelty free Christmas with LUSH

A Cruelty free Christmas with LUSH

Lush tends to be a staple item in my Christmas stocking, and this year is no different! My Grandmother sent me these little treats and I was so excited to receive them! The box came wrapped, but I didn't have to open it to know it was from Lush! That smell! Offft its so amazing, my apartment has been full of sweet sugary scents for over a week now!

So here's what I got; Candy Mountain bubble bar, which is a cute little pink and cream mountain shaped bubble bar. This little beauty smells like candy, it's so sweet and sugary and even has some shimmery glitter too! I cant wait to use this, and a bubble bar of this size is good for about 2 or maybe 3 baths!

Sweet soap of mine pack, this bundle contains two wedges of Lush's most famous and favourited soaps; The Godmother and Rock Star. The Godmother soap has long been my favourite soap from lush, you can find a full review of The Godmother here

Snow Fairy Shower gel, why is this limited edition?! I do not know! You can only get Snow Fairy shower gel around the Christmas period at Lush. I don't think I've seen any other Lush product more lusted after, blogged about and widely loved! With the same scent as the Rock Star soap, this shower gel is such a treat.
