I Covet...

After gazing in the window of Pod in Oxford last week, I cant stop admiring this gorgeous necklace, every time I walk past on my way to work!

Daisies are beyond my favourite flower, I even have wedding bouquet and table arrangement plans for my future wedding day! This Alex Monroe design, a large silver Daisy with a Gold plated center is an obvious winner with me!

Although sadly the price tag of £110 is a little too much for my student loan to handle right now.

But if you're gunning for my affection and eternal love;
 he's where you can buy it here!

My love for Lashes.

Those of you who follow my Instagram, may have seen a sneak peak at my new eBay purchase. I cannot explain how excited I was about the arival of theres babies - I had to try them out right away!

I haven't always been a lash-fan, everytime I would attempt to put them on, I would end up gluing them to my fingers instead. After a little more practise, it's safe to say I'm addicted! The upkeep of everyday wear however can be expensive, so I set out on a search for a solution. As always eBay came up trumps!

This gorgeous pack of 10 sets was a mere £2.09 with free P&P. What a baragain! There was a huge style selcection, so I went for style 003 a  fairly natural criss-crossy look - as I feel they give the most volume!

Although cheap, I'm very impressed! The lashes require a quick trim of the edges once removed from the packaging. I then use Elyre's Strip Lash adhesive to apply. The instant Zing of full, thick lashes is a true gift and I cannot get enough!

Each last has between 4-7 days wear in them, depending on how you care for them. The one thing I'm not 100% keen on is the solid black strip - its fine for days I'm wearing black eye-liner, but looks a bit odd without it. Which limits the wear, most drug store lashes have a clear strip which I find more versitile.
But seeing as I wear black eyeliner alomost EVERY day, Its not a huge a problem!
Overall a gorgeous product - arrived pretty quick too! :)

KIKO.

Kiko. Make up Milano.

A couple of months ago I jumped on a plane and headed to Turin Italy to visit Lauren, good friend from High School, who is studying there. Obviously, I was unexplainably excited to see my friend for a 3day girlie marathon of drinking delicious Italian Coffee, gazing upon the sights of Turin and Milano and of course, Shopping!
Out of all the people I know, this girl takes the crown when it comes to shopping, particularly shoes, bags and dresses! However much I adore those items myself, I couldn't wait to get my hands on some Italian Make up.

In the capable hands of Lauren I was directed to KIKO a brand I'd never really heard much about, but I was instantly captivated. I would compare their store and it's range of products much to the brand Inglot. But at a slightly reduced rate.
Although seduced by the gorgeous display of colours and amazing special offers; and visiting both the Turin store and the store in Milan, I ended up leaving with only 4 products.

I picked up two lipsticks; My favourite being 'Smart Lipstick' - colour 96 Pink. How a lipstick can be 'smart' I'm still unsure, but Personally I think this colour is far from Pink, leaning more to a brown/peach based nude colour. For me, this is the best Nude lipsticks I own. Application smooth and even and has a matte finish. Combined an awesome colour pay off, and great staying power, I'm going to have to order a back up!
 I believe I paid under €5 for this lipstick, what a bargin!

The next lipstick I spotted was 'shiny pearl lipstick' - colour 191 watermelon pink. Again I feel this colour description is wrong, the shade is would describe as more of a bubble-gum pink which contains a gorgeous array of tiny shimmer particles. Application is again very smooth, giving more of a sheer deposit of colour on the lips. The only down side of this product is it doesn't last long on the lips. However, I think this shade is a perfect pop of colour for the Summer!

Another bargin at under €5!

The next item I picked up was an 'Smart Eye pencil' - 100 Black Smoke. Black smoke is a gorgeous dark grey colour with a lovely creamy texture. Looks great and stays put when I've used it as an upper lid liner! But unfortunately does smudge a little when used in the water line.

Finally, I chose a nail polish, as I had forgotten to pack one in my suitcase. 'Nail Laquer' - 346 Olive drab isn't really a colour I would normally go for. But as there was still and Autumnal feeling in the air, I was drawn to try something new. My nails chip whatever I do to them, so I was not surprised when it didn't last long on my nails. The consistency is a little thin for my liking, requiring around 3 coats to gain full opaqueness.
Overall, I really loved what Kiko had to offer, and the products I picked up were awesome bargins as well as good quality products! I highly recomomend checking them out, as I will certainly be making an order with them soon!
If you head over to the Kiko website there's free delivery on all purchases for up to 15days after registration!! (with the small catch of a £25 minimum spend).

I was also thrilled to hear they now have stores open in Westfield! WIN!

Clean&Clear

After watching Blair Fowler's Video on Clearasil's perfectawash I headed right to boots, once I heard the product had been released in the UK. If you go watch the video, Blair describes automated dispenser system, to treat acne prone skin, but when I found the perfectawash system in boots at priced at £12.99 I was turned off. Although not extremely over priced, I figured it was too much to spend on a product which will probably be a novelty to start with, but get old very quickly!

So whilst in the skin care isle, I decided I couldn't leave boots empty handed (Who can do that?!) I spotted Clean & Clear: Morning energy - Skin Brightening daily facial scrub. This product promises to gently exfoliate, remove dirt and leaving the skin visibly brighter. Priced at £3.99 I decided to give it a go.

The gel formation lathers up really nicely and contains a host of gold shimmery flecks, which I assume is the part that provides the 'brightening' effect. Along with a bunch of exfoliating beads, which burst on the skin. Which I found a bit too rough for use of my face.

Overall I was very disappointed with this product. Not only did it fall short of it's claims for brightening the skin, It also dried my face horrendously! Which obviously didn't help treat my acne, and made me break out more!

Not to be a complete debbie downer, there are a couple of good points about the product; It smells incredible, very fresh and fruity. It also for fills the morning energy claim, and left my face feeling clean, fresh and awake! And it's Oil free!
My Roommate however, loves the stuff. She uses the 'Skin energising' scrub and it works wonders for her. So I guess it's just personal preference.

12 in a Year.

Words. Words. Words.
As part of my 2012 New Years Resolution I decided to read more. A book a month is my target... So far it's April and I'm on book number 7. So It's going more than good so far! Better than I can say for my other resolutions; lose weight, get fit, blaaah blaaah blaaah! I dont know why I stopped reading, getting busy with uni and life I guess. I'm so excited to be reading regularly again, I find my self making a cup of tea and getting into bed early just to read some more of a yummy book. For me reading is an escape from the real world. For a couple of hours I can become an entirely new person, in a new world. It's so therapeutic. I've been really into dystopian style books recently, after reading the Hunger Games trilogy is just under 2weeks!

Heres what I've been filling my head with recently;

'When God was a Rabbit' - Sarah Winman * 'Hunger Games Trilogy' - Suzanne Collins * 'Uglies' - Scott Westerfield * 'Divergent' - Veronica Roth * 'Her fearful Symmetry' - Audrey Niffenegger (currently on Chapter 5 :) *

SS2012

Flowers, flowers Everywhere!
Once again, floral trend is hitting the runways and the high street for Spring/Summer 2012 and I couldn't be more excited. I love this trend, it's an awesome ways to mix colour and get all girlie for the summer!

My particular favourite from New York Fashion week 2012 was this gorgeous number from Matthew Williamson. The combination of two key trends, Neutrals and florals is breath taking. I'm also in love with the High-low hems that have appeared in shops recently!

Here's a few of my favourite high street purchases. Indulging my floral addiction;

DIY- Daisy nails. Hallie Scarf in Coral - Crew. Coffee Mug - Cath Kidston & Carolina Scarf - Crew. High-Low hemmed skirt - Zara. Hermione Shirt - Crew.
